George and Joann Spartz

George and Joann Spartz have been involved with the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival beginning in the early 1980's when they started Boy Scout Troop # 40's baked potato sale during the festival. 

Joann Spartz began her involvement with the Pumpkin Festival Committee as a vendor with the Boy Scout Troop # 40 baked potato sale.  She attended many of the PFC meetings before and after the festival.  Joann joined the Pumpkin Festival Committee in 1992 and was chairperson of various committees during her 11 years on the committee, including 3 years as Parade Chair.  She was the President of the committee from 1994-1996.

George has been involved with the Pumpkin Festival in a number of ways.  He has helped hang the pumpkin festival banners, pulled floats in the parade, and worked on crowd control.  George has been a volunteer fireman with the Sycamore Fire Department for over 45 years.
